Qaboos University Bike Show and Car Show,
3rd April 2006
It was a very fine afternoon and the weather was good.
BikersOman.com was invited to the Bike and Car Show Exhibition on
the 3rd April 2006 at the Commerce building grounds at the Sultan
Qaboos University. And even though the show was held on a weekday,
it was a huge success because of the large turnouts of
participants, guests and people from all walks of life admiring
both the bikes and the cars that participated in the said event.
Some of the bikers met at Jawharat A'Shati Complex and some joined
us at SQU. Heads turned around in awe when we approached the
grounds.
The show started at 4pm in the afternoon with judges already
scattered and trying to make out who really stood out among all the
fantastic bikes and customized cars. The bikes were categorized
into two divisions. One being Classic category and the other being
the Sports category . They were judged upon looks and the factor
that separated them from the other machines. Two of the crowd’s
favorites were the Honda CB250(Police) and a BMW 1985 model. After
the judges finished their rounds, the event was followed by an
exhibition and demonstration of stunts and high flying kicks from
Taekwondo Group Oman. Next, it was the students turn to amaze the
crowd by performing break dance routines and that’s were everybody
started to get crazy.
The day ended with smiles as participants won prizes for their bikes
and cars. Everybody had a good time, this alone satisfied the hard
work and sacrifices the organizers did promising another event like
this could grace the University grounds in the near future.
