Bike Ride
From JAS Complex to Al Sawadi Beach Resort
2 September 2005 - A glorious day for Bikers Oman.
The first ride was an eye opener for a lot of new bikers, in
turn making the second bike ride a popular one.
Many new faces arrived at sharp 7.30am at the Jawharat A’Shati
Complex. The total number of bikers crossed 25 by 8.15am while
coffee was served as courtesy by JAS Complex. Mr. Fareed Sheheibi,
Chairman of the Ras Al Hamra Bikers Club spoke a few words on safety
and safe riding, which proved quite helpful as most bikers were
observed using these tips on their ride to the Al Sawadi Beach
Resort.
It was decided that the pack would leave in two batches, first batch
being the cruisers and the second batch being the sports bikes. The
first batch of cruiser bikes lead the pack of more than 25 roaring
bikes.
The bikers cruised the on the stretched highway roads, with great
enthusiasm which was complemented by the beautiful sunny morning.
The road works happening between Barka and Al Sawadi were the only
places where extra precaution had to be adhered and the bikers were
well prepared for it. They followed each other in a single file
observing a 3 second rule and made it through safely.
Although the journey did not hold many scenic locations to stop and
admire, the passing cars & roadside walkers had more than 25
reasons to stop and watch the gleaming machines pass by one by one.
At the Al Sawadi Beach Resort, the bikers were the center of
attraction, as the guests relaxing by the pool side never expected
to see more than 25 stunning machines revving the place at the same
time. The Al Sawadi Beach Resort along with its staff were warm and
helpful and served snacks and refreshments for the bikers. Needless
to say once the bikes were parked all the cameras came out from
their hiding. There were quite a few bike enthusiasts that wanted
to experience a ride on these machines and the bikers were more
than happy to share their experience with them.
