The
Big Bike Show 2006
Bigger & better……
 It was the
second annual Big Bike Show at the Jawharat A’Shati Complex and the
time for all the bikers to polish and shine their machines. March 2nd
2006 was the day appointed and the show delivered with over 130
bikers showing up to have their machines contending for the prizes
in the different categories.
There was a
crowd turnout of over 2000 people, bike lovers and enthusiasts
gathered around to stare and click photographs with their favorite 2
wheel beauty. As the bikes rolled in all the eyes turned to the
pulsating sounds of their engines. Harleys, Sports, Cruisers, Off
roads, all were there and it was a sight as smiles broadened to
every biker coming in. There was a special bike on display, a
Kawasaki Stunt bike brought in by Mr. Haqim Al Shanfari, one of the
participants which also won an award.
The main
sponsor of the event were BMW, followed by co- sponsors Honda,
Harley Davidson and Kawasaki. Jawharat A’Shati Complex was the venue
sponsor for the event. The Official Printer for the event was Ruwi
Modern Printers.
BMW came in
with large display of Off roads, cruisers and Sport Bikes while
Honda brought in the lean mean CBR’s of 2006. The Harley’s had a
Buell on display while Kawasaki put on a Ninja.
We had Red Bull
sampling out their beverage to the visitors and participants. As the
judges got down to examining the bikes it was a task for them as
better bikes kept rolling in. The bikes were judged on the basis
paint, engine riders, appeal, style and innovations. The following
were the winners for the day in the various categories:
